Magan Kateri Basque was crowned at the Miss Canada United World held in London, Ontario on May 14, 2023. She was the first indigenous woman to win the title. Winning entitled her to compete at the United World Pageant in Texas during September of 2023.
Magan is a Mi’kmaw woman from Eskasoni First Nation in Nova Scotia. In the competition, Magan credited Ashley Callingbull, Mrs. Universe 2015, her mentor
